When Is Belize Lobster Fest 2025
Good news: Belize Lobster Fest 2025 is set to take place this July. Even better news? You’ll be able to indulge in all things lobster fest no matter where in the country you are. That is because most major coastal communities in the country, including San Pedro, Caye Caulker, and Placencia, will each be hosting their own festival.
San Pedro Lobster Fest, which features a week long lobster crawl and a massive block party, is scheduled for July 1st – 12th. Visit the island’s top bars and restaurants and get to sample some unique flavors. (And don’t forget to get your lobster crawl passports stamped).
Just south of San Pedro, the tiny island of Caye Caulker is home to the biggest, and oldest, Lobster Fest. This year, it is taking place from July 18th to 20th. Expect plenty of parties, music, and even some lobster-themed pageantry.
On the mainland, Placencia Lobster Fest is a three day affair featuring plenty of family-friendly fun. Steelpan music, games, and, of course, lots of food await. It all takes place July 4th to 6th.

So, why does Belize celebrate lobster in such a big way every summer? Well, it has to do with the official Caribbean Spiny Lobster Season. From March 1st to early July the Belize Fisheries Department declares the lobster season closed. This means that all fishing, selling, and possession of lobster in the country is prohibited. By doing this, the species is allowed time to reproduce and the lobster industry is able to remain a sustainable fishing industry.
The first ever lobster fest took place on the island of Caye Caulker in 1994. Since then, it has grown into a countrywide affair that draw countless visitors from across the globe each year.
