Island Hop to Caye Caulker

July 24, 2024

Throughout your 5-night stay at Casa Al Mar, you have the opportunity to island hop to Caye Caulker with your private boat captain and personal tour guide. For this experience, you depart from the house at around 9:00 A.M and take a 35-minute boat ride to the tranquil island of Caye Caulker. When you arrive, have your snorkel gear ready to start exploring the wonders of the underwater world.

Snorkeling at Coral Gardens

Your first snorkel destination is Coral Gardens. Here, you will enjoy 35 minutes of snorkeling, and you can arrange with your host if you would like to spend more time.

Swimming with Nurse Sharks and Rays

After your snorkel adventure, enjoy swimming with nurse sharks and rays. Spend 45 minutes swimming and engaging with them. Gently glide into the water to avoid disturbing them. The crystal-clear water allows you to see these docile creatures up close, making it a fascinating experience.

Feeding the Tarpons

For another thrilling experience, try feeding tarpons. Feeding these large fish make for a fun and exciting activity. Upon arriving at the Tarpon Cove dock, you will be welcomed and provided with bait. Hold out your bait and wait for them to come to you. This is a great opportunity to chat with the locals and learn more about the island. Be sure to capture photos and videos of this exciting event. Most importantly, don’t be afraid. They may seem intimidating, but be daring, and you will likely want to do it again.

Returning to Casa Al Mar

This will undoubtedly be a day filled with memorable activities for you and your group, leaving you wanting more. As you return from your adventure at Caye Caulker, you might be lucky enough to spot a dolphin or even an entire pod of them. These friendly marine creatures often follow the boat from a distance, sometimes even putting on a playful show for guests. It’s the perfect ending to an incredible day.

Additional Activities on the Island

Feel free to discuss your plans with your host to customize your island experience. You can take a calm walk or enjoy a swim at the famous ‘Split’ in Caye Caulker. Additionally, you can explore local gift shops or simply relax on the pristine beaches. Book your all-inclusive stay and come island hop to your heart’s content!
