Belize Arrival Checklist For Casa Al Mar Guests
Belize Arrival Checklist: What to Do Before You Get Here
The arrival at Casa Al Mar is straightforward — fly into BZE, meet the transfer team, ride to the dock, board the private boat, and you're there. What makes it smooth is doing a small amount of preparation before you leave home. This page walks through everything the group organizer needs to handle before travel day.
Already booked? Send your flight details and guest needs so the team can prepare for your arrival.
Before You Travel
Work through this list before your departure date:
Confirm passport validity for everyone in the group
Complete Belize's official digital arrival form
Send flight details for all guests to Casa Al Mar
Return any guest questionnaires the team has sent a week before arrival
Confirm dietary needs, allergies, and special requests for all guests 3-4 weeks before arrival
Share any mobility concerns, toddler needs, medical needs, or nervous-boat-traveler notes with the team
Pack reef-safe sunscreen — standard sunscreen is not preferred at reef sites
Belize's Digital Arrival Form
Belize uses an official online immigration and customs e-form for arrivals and departures. Use the current official free link from Travel Belize or the Government of Belize directly.
Avoid third-party sites that make the process look complicated or charge unnecessary fees — the official form is free. The direct link is here for your convenience: https://ideclare.gov.bz/Belize_Digital_Forms/
The Arrival Sequence
Land at BZE → clear immigration and customs → collect luggage → meet the Casa Al Mar transfer team → ride to the Belize City dock → board the private boat → arrive at the house.
The transfer from BZE to St. George's Caye is included in your stay. Timing on arrival day can shift depending on immigration lines, luggage, traffic, and whether the group is arriving on separate flights — so keep the day relaxed and don't schedule anything tight on either end.
If members of your group are arriving on different flights, let the team know early so they can coordinate the plan in advance rather than on the day.
The Boat Trip
From the dock, the private boat takes the group across to St. George's Caye with the captain and team on board. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.
If anyone in the group has mobility concerns, balance issues, nervousness around boats, or motion-sickness needs, share that before arrival day. The team can plan the boarding and crossing with those guests in mind.
What to Pack
The island is warm, open-air, and on the water. Pack accordingly:
Swimwear and coverups
Light, breathable clothing
Reef-safe sunscreen and insect repellent
Hat and sunglasses
Sandals and water shoes
Waterproof phone pouch or dry bag
Personal medication and motion-sickness support if needed
Chargers
Light rain layer if traveling in wetter months
Any toddler or child items your family cannot do without
Closed-toe shoes if the group is planning mainland nature or adventure tours
Casa Al Mar can confirm what is already available at the house before you pack so you're not doubling up on things you don't need.
Food and Dietary Notes
Meals are planned around your group before arrival. The chef works from a guest questionnaire, not a fixed menu — so the more detail you share, the better the week looks for everyone at the table.
Make sure the team knows about allergies, vegetarian or pescatarian needs, foods children will and won't eat, strong dislikes, any celebration meals during the stay, seafood preferences, and any questions about pre-stocking alcohol.
Return food questionnaires as soon as the team sends them.
Things Worth Flagging Before You Arrive
Send Casa Al Mar a note if any of the following apply to your group:
Anyone has mobility concerns or uses a mobility aid
Anyone is nervous about the boat crossing
A child needs specific gear or food not covered in the questionnaire
You are celebrating something during the stay
Flights arrive at very different times
The group is traveling with oversized luggage or specialty equipment such as fishing or dive gear
Anyone has a medical concern the team should know about in advance
The team cannot prepare for what they don't know. The earlier these details arrive, the better the arrival goes.
